Cotton Jamdani
Timeless, featherlight, and unmistakably Bengali — this Cotton Jamdani Saree is handwoven using one of the world's most ancient textile traditions, recognised by UNESCO as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
Jamdani is not printed, not embroidered — every pattern on this saree is woven directly into the cotton muslin thread by thread, using the supplementary weft technique that Bangladeshi and Bengali weavers have practised for centuries. The result is a fabric that is simultaneously translucent and structured, with motifs that seem to float on the surface of the cloth. The body of the saree carries delicate Jamdani patterns — geometric, floral, or all-over — with a complementary border and richly detailed pallu. Fine cotton ensures the saree stays cool and comfortable in Bengal's warm climate, making it a daily luxury that wears as beautifully at noon as it does at dusk. The natural, muted palette of authentic Jamdani cotton gives this saree a sophistication that synthetic imitations simply cannot replicate. Sourced with care by Sharee Kuthir from the artisan families who have kept this tradition alive for generations.
